Polls

Post by les »

When I open a thread that contains a poll, this is not apparent unless I scroll above the top post.

I am sure I must have missed polls in the past and may well do so in the future.

Is there a way to automatically highlight the fact a poll is part of the thread ??

So..
you looking for a way to search for a forum post that contains a poll?

interesting idea
unless the actual Word "poll" appears in either the title or the body of the forum
it will not show up in a search
I know I usually post "SC asks..."
for any polls I post. So mine (for example) might be missed.

I want to be sure that a thread contains a poll when I open it.

At the moment the actual poll is always hidden whenever a thread is opened.
Even with TOTM, I have to scroll up to the actual poll. to be able to vote.

I never noticed that before. Milovana could easily make an icon appear in the thread name that highlights it as having a poll.

Hm, interesting.
I don't have this problem. When I open a thread, I'm at the top position of the site and see directly if there is a poll.
I tried Firefox and Opera and with both browsers I directly see if there is a poll.

I'm pretty sure the scroll position depends on where you clicked. Try clicking on the actual topic title if you want the page to start out scrolled to the top.

As for displaying a different icon for threads with a poll - that's a good suggestion, I'll keep it in mind!

Should be the same thing - if you click on the topic title, it'll open the first page a the top, if you click the little post icon it'll scroll to the first unread post I believe.

That's right but it always open in the post beneath the actual poll.
First time and then the next thread I have not read.
I will recheck when the TTOM is posted shortly.
going through unread for flash and front page new posts for classic.
