Because it was founded by people like you. People who were annoyed that most sites out there were created to make money. Sure, we need to pay for our servers, too. But that doesn't mean we have to put one gazillion banners all over the place.

The idea of a website is to provide something useful. And because of the nature of the web, there is no reason to keep it behind closed doors in a tight membership section or whatever. Instead, we are giving it out to everyone interested.

So how will you make money then?

We are working on a donator’s program, where people can donate a small amount in order to gain access to additional features and resources. We aren’t there yet, but the principle is simple: If you are willing to pay a few bucks, then you will get some additional features which are worth paying for. But we won’t artificially exclude anyone, just because he’s not willing to pay. Why should we?
