For everybody else...

There's this program called stash. You run it on your computer and it works like a library for your porn collection. You can use it to set video titles, studios, release dates, tags, performers and more for your porn scenes. It stores all this metadata in a local database without ever modifying your video files. This can already be very useful by itself.

But then you can also connect it to an online stash database and automatically discover metadata for your porn files. Thousands of people already use stash in combination with these online databases to organize their collections of commercial pornography. But there was no stash database for Cock Hero and Porn Music Videos, until a few days ago...

Now we have pmvstash.org!

You might also want to join the PMV Stash discord https://discord.gg/GQbeYVBYQ4. This is completely optional but it can be helpful if you have questions or you want to be more actively involved. We have a small but growing community of PMV enjoyers who are already using PMV stash and submitting new metadata.

We already have some Cock Hero movies in PMV stash, some old and some more recent. We'd like to eventually have accurate information for all of them!.

TCS, Just what I've been looking for! I installed Stash on my 99999 local web host on my pc, and after a few false starts, I got it to work. Wow! I'm able to access and play all my cock hero videos within the Stash database. No more frustrating hunting and pecking with windows file explorer in order to find a particular video I want to play. I was able to register and log into StashDB, after requesting a refresh of the invite key. I also registered with PMVStash.org and added it to the Metadata Providers. The more I fiddle around with Stash, the more I'm impressed with its features and ease of use. I'd be interested in hearing how others are fairing with this. It's functional but not ideal, IMO, enjoyable enough, not sure if it's really geared toward cock-hero or PMV-style videos ... and I am unclear about the difference between the GENERAL Stash-app community and this evidently specialized PMV-stash community that you're announcing (starting?) in this thread. Is there a second PMV source for auto-tagging in addition to the mainstream stash community's auto-tagging and other resources? How would I install? Etc.

Hi book_guy. It sounds like (and please correct me if I've misunderstood) you've never used a metadata provider for stash (a.k.a. stash-box endpoing), in which case you're missing out because that's like... half the reason to even use stash in the first place. Running stash just by yourself can be useful and the built-in auto-tagger can help populate some titles and studio fields, but that's about it.

The real power is when you connect to a stash-box endpoint. Then your local stash app can automatically pull metadata from these endpoints for the videos you have. This metadata is carefully curated and submitted by other users, not automatically generated.

Until now there have been two metadata providers for stash: Stashbox.org which is operated by the developers of stash and ThePornDB (metadataapi.net) which is an independant project (which is also apparently monetized through ads). Both these providers host metadata for commercial porn.

The news is that there is now https://pmvstash.org/ which is the first stash metadata provider for PMVs, Cock Hero, and other related remixed porn video art.

By connecting your stash to pmvstash.org you can get accurate metadata for your CH collection and also start submitting your own.
But perhaps even more importantly, you can discover new PMV artists that you might have not found otherwise, including links for where to find their work.

First of all, thank you to everyone you joined already! I've lost count but I've refreshed the invite codes a bunch of times, including just now. We even had an edit from a Milovana user already!

This has a lot of potential. Question--when I tried adding a Cock Hero that I made that's not in the database yet, it takes me to a page where I can enter all the details. Shouldn't it be possible to just use all the data that I've already attached to the video in my collection, like description, tags, etc? At the moment it appears that I need to re-enter all of that data?

Also, is it possible to use this data base to see which videos are missing from my own collection? That way you could have a "collect them all" type feature

Absolutely! You can send the data for individual scenes by going to the scene, clicking the 3-dot menu and then "Submit to Stash-Box". Then you select the correct stash-box endpoint assuming you have configured it. If you haven't already, you can configure stash-box endpoints from "Settings > Metadata Providers" ( likely here: http://localhost:9999/settings?tab=metadata-providers ). Then stash gives you a direct link to your draft on pmvstash.org for final adjustments before submitting it for voting.

There are still some manual things you might have to do such as creating your "Studio", and a few other minor gotchas. Please feel free to DM me if there's still something unclear.

Also, is it possible to use this data base to see which videos are missing from my own collection? That way you could have a "collect them all" type feature

Sadly I'm not aware of a way to do this in some automatically.

OK got it! But the site seems to be requiring a studio. Not sure what to put here--it won't let me free form add anything and it doesn't seem to find any of the studios from the clips in my edit. Hmm
