Classic CH format - anyone?

This is not a criticism of recent efforts of CH authors. For certain the innovations in techniques, beat meters, etc have been impressive. I also appreciate the effort that goes into them, and I know that no one producer is going to be the same. I further accept that people's tastes and preferences vary...

That being said, does any one else miss the older classic format of the original CH videos? Those that were made by Vindicare and AndyP, for example? Those videos had a certain style and format to them that I miss.

For example, in most of those earlier videos each round typically featured one "scenario" as it may be. Each 'episode' (ie: full length video) would started fairly tame and increase as you progress. The first round was likely a dancer, sometimes even fully clothed (albeit scantily) or not... with maybe some PG13-esque minor exposure in the first round... calm beats throughout, changing it up slightly once in a while, really a warm up. The next couple of rounds would be slightly more provocative girls and actions; probably full nudity, a bit of self-play, sometimes with a toy, sometimes without. Then gradually the action would ramp up as each round passed -- again single scenario per round... but getting more and more hardcore, add in a partner, starting with oral actions perhaps, add-in full-on sex, any style, and more challenging and complex beats. The final round was your reward round... your chance for release.

The progression made the whole 'episode' feel like one huge cohesive experience, and you felt like you 'earned' it if you got through it all.


Nowadays, it just seems to be a collection of music videos. Rapid-fire montages with 5 or 6 scenarios pieced together per round, and 6 or 7 rounds per episode which are barely discernable from each other. Each round is basically the same level of allure, difficulty, and randomness. There seems to be no progression and cohesion along the episode. The newer ones just seem to be less thoughtful, and less inspired than the classic format.

Am I the only one with this observation? Is anyone else missing the old classic style?

(and please don't say "go make your own" -- I don't have the time, talent, nor the resources. This is just meant as a discussion.)

Could'nt agree more, the older ones where better. Focusing on one girl per round and hoping to maybe see her naked at the end makes it much more of a tease then switching through random hardcore scenes every 3 seconds. I also prefer when there are simple beats like in stroker ace as it makes it easier focusing on the screen instead of your stroking.

I see where you're coming from with this. I agree with awesome, I'd say I follow that progression to an extent to build intensity, it may just happen faster in these more recent episodes.

What I will say is this, first and foremost. We need more people making episodes. The new creators obviously have a lean towards getting into the action (I know I do) While I enjoy some of the early episodes, it's just not my style. I guess I'm just impatient lol.

It's seems safe to assume that the current creators will stick with their style because they're only going to do what they enjoy. I'd love to see new creators, passionate about that build come into the mix. I'd say in working on Levels there are certainly people who could so just what you're saying. We just gotta convince them to do it!

I definitely prefer the "classic" episodes. I've always liked the process of progressively increasing the difficulty, complete with breaks to cool down between rounds.

The slow build up is what makes it fun for me. I tend to just skip over any CH that comes out if it goes straight into long stretches of fast beats because I'm not really interested in that style.

I liked the classic CH videos a lot and some of them are still favorites. Of the new authors I really like the acceleration style videos a lot.

I've often thought a similar thing...but this may be because we've played too much CH. Am I going too far when I suggest that the quality of webteases has gone down? I don't know...there's a flooding of the milovana market with a lower-quality product, but I find that I still go back and think about/play the classics as much as the new material.

I like thought and quality. Cutting corners doesn't give you the same experience. That said, I do like the new beat changes, but there's no continuity and nothing ever left to the imagination. If we know how the tease is going to end (meaning, you're either going to get to cum or not) then there ought to be some sort of trajectory that's "best." For me, that's a slow start with increasingly difficult peaks.

My favorite? I will always go back to CH Anatomy...the legs/feet round just does me in, and I'm not even a fetish guy. :)

I don't mind the older format with more of a tease element, but if I'm not really into the girl(s) featured I don't find it that interesting, whereas the more hardcore stuff...erm... grabs my attention right away.

one of the simplest and most basic reasons is because the first cock hero videos were mostly all girls only for the most part

No you aren't going too far with that suggestion. That was half of what I was saying.

In the earlier ones there was a fair amount of thought and natural flow to the entire episode. Now, it's just random montages... and they all seem the same to me.

But I can go back to one of the older ones (and "Anatomy" is a good one) and know I'm going to have a genuine experience -- even if I've already played through it already before.

I'm glad this is a positive discussion, I would like to add my "two cents" as well.
AndyP and Vindicare (I think) kicked us off, an we have not looked back since.
Cock Hero's are a tribute , interpretation, or expression of someones creativity.
I personally love Vidicare's style of presentation and editing. I look up to him when I create my own videos. That said I put my own creative spin and express my fantasy through my edits via the choice of girl and scenario.

I have to say I am turned on by editing say 4 scenes together and putting it to music. HOWEVER, when you do 50 mins of the same editing style then I agree its a turn off. I try and add variety so the viewer does not know whats going to hit them next. I also build up the tease, I think that the TEASE is what is lost.

Yes, like Tribes said i must agree!! The TEASE it´s one of the most important element to an good Cock Hero, at least for me teasing its what brings Cock hero fans attention to it and what makes people loving to play it...

The masters editors have done it, those classics are freaking epic, at least for my taste!!! In my opinion that formula is what works, some new good creators also done that classic formula in cool new teasing ways to play it....

I think we the newbies creators should all try to evolve from that, at least is what ive tried to do with my CH Edition, respect the CH tradition, learn the story behind it, see what series get me turned on and then try to cum up with my personal take on it, and maybe people will enjoy it, i really hope so, if not ill try to keep improving it..... From what ive seen from the Levels series there is enough new creators out there to take the CH´s to a new level of playabillity and tease... Wish ive camed across with this game along time ago, this concept is huge.... the porn industry is loosing out on this one, it´s theyre lost!!! lol!!! glad to see that this is an milovana comunitty effort to keep improving this game! Massive props to every creator out there! Just keep going at it and don´t forget the classics CH´s! Get inspired by those and try to envolve from that..
