Popper - the drug

Post by kong »

Hi to everyones attention has the popper-drug become quite popular lately here on milovana, though I have never heard about it before/outside of Milovana.

I am just concerned that the milovana community-information about the drug can be a bit misleading. So I checked it up and found a quite described version about it.

http://www.drugscience.org.uk/drugs-inf ... s-poppers/
(((http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showwi ... yl_Nitrite)))

Shortly: The drug relaxes smooth muscle in the body and therefore lowering blood pressure. Therefore it's dangerous to use it while using Viagra (any drug that changes blood pressure) Popper has also an effect to obtain an erection in some cases

HEALTH
The health risks of using poppers for healthy people are considered relatively low. They are much lower than other inhaled volatile liquids, often called ‘solvents’. However, they are not always harmless.

Poppers can cause poisoning which can even occasionally be fatal if you get enough into the body. This can happen easily through accidental swallowing, but inhaling poppers in very large quantities can cause overdoses too. The reason is that the chemical converts the red haemoglobin in the blood into methemoglobin, turning the blood chocolate brown. Haemoglobin is needed to deliver oxygen round the body, so the result of severe ‘methemoglobinemia’ is oxygen starvation, potentially leading to organ failure, blindness, brain damage, or in the worse cases, death.

There is no advice available on the quantities likely to cause these serious problems. However, overdoses of alkyl nitrite are rare, suggesting that ordinary use should not put someone into the danger zone. If someone is continuously taking a lot of any alkyl nitrite and they experience shortness of breath, a lack of energy, tiredness and bluish colouring of the skin, they may be developing methemoglobinemia and should seek urgent medical help. If someone swallows poppers they should go to a hospital by ambulance as soon as possible. As well as the poisoning risk, swallowing poppers would likely result in throat irritation, nausea and vomiting.

Visual loss associated with damage to the retina has been reported, but appears rare. This may resolve over several weeks. More research is needed to evaluate this risk.

People who use poppers heavily have developed crusty skin lesions around the nose, mouth and lips. Poppers can cause a chemical burn if it gets on the skin and should be washed off as fast as possible. When users get the liquid in their eye it is very painful. This requires prompt first aid of flushing with plenty of water. If discomfort continues, users should seek medical advice as soon as possible.

Poppers are also very flammable. You should never try to heat up a bottle of alkyl nitrite or have an open bottle near a flame or lit cigarette. People sometimes dip cigarettes in poppers to inhale through the unlit cigarette. Some have been burnt after mistakenly lighting the cigarette.

And this leads to a question, were should we on milovana draw the line? Is it ok to have a tease that demands you to snort coke? In my opinion I hope that these teases doesn't lead/invite to people trying it out. (imo but when I read about this drug, I think to myself it could be fun to try it out, and in a kind of way I think it's bad).

As far as I know it's not illeagal and technically not a drug. However it does do harm as any chemistry.

Also, it was there long long ago, if I'm not mistaken it was popular in 70s-80s, then faded away, and now being re-discovered agaqin.

I don't think you should BAN it, because I don't believe such things ever work. It's better if it's being discussed, but everyone understand what it is and what it does. That way the effect is far greater.

The answer to where the line should be drawn is actually easy: Legality.

But of course, despite something being legal doesn't mean it's harmless, so a little caution is never a bad idea. But as far as limiting milovana content goes, nothing legal should be moderated, nor do I think seraph ever will.
Yes, I most certainly CAN do it again!

Let the reader make the choice.
IMHO it is silly; but hey, some may like the concept.

Cocaine is legal in some countries, So judging it on legality is a bit awkward.

At some point, we have to let readers accept that they are doing these things at their own risk.
I mean this isn't the only thing in a tease that could cause harm.
Quite a few teases around here that could cause serious and permanent damage if you actually did them.

I agree, its up to the teasee to decide if they're going to do it, no one is actually forcing them to do anything beyond their boundaries if they're practicing safe S&M and could simply stop the tease or safeword if they feel uncomfortable with what's happening. If they are not in a position where they can do either of these things, that's a separate issue entirely.

It makes me want to get naked and subdue you with pleasure until you're too exhausted to maintain that facade and I can rip it off and show you what's underneath. Because I already know, and I judge that man beneath your mask much less harshly than you do"
