New CH project - preview

Post by ThumpeR11 »

Hello everyone!

So yesterday I decided I'll have a go at making CH movies, and see if I can make one. In about 8 hours (including downloading all the programs except for AE, reading tutorials and rendering) I've created a sample round, which is pretty much complete now, with image quality and file size that seems OK. I'd like to hear your opinions on it, as I'm sure there is much room for improvement, though I've ended up with something much better than I've expected when starting it.

If I have the time, music, clips and energy that's needed, I hope I'll be able to publish a full CH (30-60 min) in about 2 weeks. Sadly, that can be delayed as my computer is freezing up a lot today for some reason.

Note: "Extra beat" means one extra stroke in an otherwise steady beat which occurs so rarely that it isn't worth calling the rhytm 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-123-1-2-3-4-5 etc. It only occurs two times, in the first 30 seconds of the video.

Enjoy, and be sure to leave me feedback afterwards.

ps. Do not yet add to the Mapping the CH world list, not sure if it will make it into a whole video. Thanks!

Edit: made the link an actual link... I'm not used to the forums yet.

Really great, nice quality there! I wish there would be two nice girls nibbling on my cock like that.

The beatmeter is a bit too present for my taste, a bit smaller and aligned direst at the bottom would be better IMHO.
Also some beatsounds were missing but with these easy beats that shouldn't be a problem.

I am thrilled to play the finished product :)

A fairly good first try Thumper.

I think you could tighten up your editing a bit so it flows a little bit better with the music. Also your triple beats (1-2-3, 1-2-3) and your double time beat were a little off rhythm to the music. Otherwise, like the music and the scene was quite hot.

The Stroke meter could be a little smaller but I do like the design and color scheme you chose. Nice job overall.

Please, please PLEASE stop with being lame. ;-)

Seriously though, your first time replying about a video tease and your comments come off being hurtful not helpful. Why not expand on your statement - for example, what would like see/hear instead of a metronome/beat? Would you just want it purely instruction with text? Anyway, I'm probably wasting my time thinking you have anything worthwhile in terms of feedback... prove me wrong if I've misjudged you, computergeek.

The stroke meter is great... especially the off-center stroke-bar, and especially the "extra beat" and "change-up" notifications where they are (scrolling, etc).

But I do also agree with supermokkori that the timing of the stroke-beats should be better in-time with the music selection... it's tricky enough without trying to discern what is your beat and what is the music beat if they aren't in synch. Double/Triple time can (and should) be faster than the music's own tempo, but it should be properly 2x or 3x the actual music tempo without sounding like a mess of metro/music beats that are jumbled and out of synch with one another.

Otherwise, great effort and can't wait to see more samples and/or the final result.

Thanks for all the feedback!
Already made the stroke meter a bit smaller in the project files. I'll look into the music sync issues when I can.

You guys have no idea how much trouble you caused me, but I really appreciated the observations. I couldn't hear the beats being off even with my surround sound headset :music: before, but now it just sounded so wrong. I have no idea how I messed up that much, and I spent half of the day fixing my errors. I think I have a working version finally (rendering right now), I might upload it so you can check if it's alright this time.

Again, thank you very much for warning me about that.
