An interesting little conversation got started up, on another thread and I thought I would bring it over here with a twist.

Someone was making a joking comment about telling their room mate that they needed to use their computer because theirs was on the fritz.

That led Me to something I always wonder.......

As you move through your life, do you look at people, wondering.....what are they like when the lights are off and the doors are closed?

Does she masturbate all day? Does he wear women's panties when no one is at home. Does that couple tie one of the other up? Does that person have welts on their bottom from their Mistress or Master spanking them?

And do you ever wonder if someone is looking at you wondering about you?

Wouldn't it be something if there was a submissive desperate to find a Mistress and it turns out that the lady two doors down is searching for a boy to Dominate?

I look at My neighbors and although I could be wrong, I believe that the man across the street is submissive to his wife. Why do I think this? I don't know.....a feeling perhaps.....I simply don't know...but I would love to ask him...would love to ask her......would love to find a way to bring it up in conversation.

Why do those of U/us in this lifestyle find it so difficult to expose O/ourselves to those in the outside world???

A couple who are old friends of mine, I'm fairly certain he's submissive to her. I can just tell, and recognise it in their interactions.

A work colleage I know (all right, my boss) is very open about it, talks about it quite a lot, espescially when her (submissive) girlfriend is around! It does give mea kind of 'Good on you, right on!' feeling as I'm into the lifestlye too... but I get very uncomfortable when she mentions it. It's not something I talk about. But then, I tend not to talk about any aspect of sex (except here, recently...). I'm pretty shy.

But I certainly do wonder about people. And I think some aspects of my behaviour have given clues about me. probably some of my close friends have figured me out. I give a lot of the same signals as the man in the couple I mentioned earlier.

I think most of us are loathe to bring it up, because of fear. Fear of being exposed, humiliated. Alienation. What if you are wrong about your guess and from that point on the interaction with the other person is at best weird, or at worst, leering.insulting. or even degrading. As well in this age, the internet is such an easy to abuse medium, someone with malicious intent could ruin someones life.

Having said that, Yeah I do wonder. And wonder if anyone thinks that I, over 6 ft tall and solid, are the submissive one.

I was wondering that myself a couple of days back... it´s funny, whenever I get into my submissive mood and go about my day I begin to wonder whom of the people I walk past could actually be doms/subs.

Yeah I think of it quite often too. Wondering if a woman who I see at work everyday is interested in the same thing or maybe a dom or even a sub. Fear.....what a powerful force it is. I wonder what our world would be without it?

I wish there was a way to bring it up, without bringing it up...to see what the reaction would be. I have racked My brain to see if I can think of a way to do that. To date....I have not thought of one.

Yeah, I think about it constantly. I look at my friends, co-workers, random folks on the street, and I analyze them. How they carry themselves, how they talk to others, how they interact with members of the opposite sex. How they view me, and how they interact with me. I'm an analyst at heart, have been since I was little.

This probably has to do with my insecurities. I look for ways to minimize my own feelings, and avoid confrontations. I look for what people enjoy, or what they want to see, and I give them that. I've only ever had a handful of people I've felt comfortable enough around to let them see the real me.

I think everyone does it to some extent. Society breeds it into us pretty early on, from the commercials advertising "You'll be popular and accepted if you wear our brands", to "Drinking Coors makes you look cool". We all want to feel popular, and accepted, and liked. And I think we all try, to some extent, to fit the mould of what we think that looks like. We see it in others, and try to emulate what we like.

Good question! I'm curious to see what everyone else comes up with!

I agree that society has played such a key role in how we act and what we allow others to see.
When I watch TV shows and the BDSM lifestyle in someway is brought up, it always shows it in a comical or sick way.
I wish that they would show the caring, sensual side to the world.

I guess because of My two men lifestyle that I lead, I tend to worry less about what people think of Me. My next door neighbor knows that I like things a little spicy. I've shown her My flogger, even! *giggles*
