Hello, Milovana!

Let's open a friendly debate about the popularity of this website and the Cock Hero genre in particular.

Personally, I've been a user since many years now. Not always active, though, since I tend to disappear from time to time and come back to see what's new. This behaviour maybe won't let me engage with the community very frequently, but makes me notice a progressively smaller user base in this section of Milovana.

So I started looking at Google Trends to see what is the rough evolution. Note that this graph is relative and not showing the total number of searches, but a percentage.

To read these trends, keep in mind that the vertical grey lines (Notes) mark a change in the Google's algorithms, which explains the big changes in those periods. Also, Cock Hero is more popular than Milovana because some people watch them outside this website.

In both curves we can see a slow decline on the interest of this genre. We still have a healthy community, but what worries me is the fact that less people are engaging here, hence meaning less releases. Maybe it's because of the amount of work needed to make productions, or maybe is because the topic is not as 'social', for obvious reasons. You can even notice outside that many people who are searching for Cock Heros (like in reddit) don't know about this website. And since this is the main platform to produce new videos and share knowledge, not many new creators will take the chance to join and start editing.

I know I'm offering a rather pessimistic view on the topic. So, what is your view? Do you agree or do you disagree? How do you think we can promote this website and this genre to attract new people? I'm reading you!

I think part of it is that is the decline of pornhub because of the purge as well to be honest, and spankbang is starting to become like pornhub as well.

I think part of it is the normalization of the music-accompanied porn genre in general, and as such, a somewhat dumbing-down of the interests of its audience. Internet porn is very much "instant-gratification" and although cock hero's fit into that, PMV's fit even more. I started on cock hero's right at about 10 years ago and I was hooked right then but as time has gone on, my willingness to watch an entire cock hero has given way to the accessibility of a PMV instead.

Id almost analogize it to the trend of dwindling attention spans of people in general, really. They are growing shorter and you could probably graph it and have it look very similar to the graph youve posted above. TikTok and similar outlets encourage it and I think people are just becoming more demanding than ever for what they deem worthy of watching. Almost like how modern cartoons switch frames and jump from one plot point to another faster than ever.

I personally havent made a cock hero because A) Im unfamiliar with implementing a beat-meter and B) I wanted to reach a wider audience, which is unfortunately with PMV's simply due to their overall accessibility and short-form nature. I dont necessarily have a suggestion for fixing it and drawing more to this community other than to encourage both PMV's and Cock Hero's within this space. Maybe having an official Milovana discord would go a long way too, because Im very active on Discord and there are massive communities for PMVs on there.

Also, I think if we advertise the site or our pages on here within our videos, it would go a long way too

I think that the partial answer is that Google only tracks Google searches, so less people searching may not correlate to less people engaged.

Another component may be market saturation. For the first decade or so, searches and user engagement increases because interested parties are discovering the content for the first time. As it becomes normalized, people tend to either lose interest and move on to the next new thing; or they start to take it for granted. In addition, there comes a point where most of those who would be interested are already here; so growth will naturally flatten or decline.

Finally, I have noticed that many of the teases and content here tends to become a little formulaic. By that I mean that creators have already explored numerous different approaches and ideas, and it is challenging to create something that is truly innovative within the confines of this platform. In other words, I am NOT slamming creators (new content is ALWAYS appreciated), but I'm defending them in the sense that it is very difficult to build a tease around an idea that hasn't been tried before; and there are certain conventions that most use because they work.

I've been on this site since its inception (under a different username), and I can say from experience that there are times when I need to take a step back because I've seen so many that the same old thing starts to become a bit boring, and I want something new and different.

To summarize, I don't worry about the trends too much. This site and Cock Hero Videos offer something that will always have an audience: free porn. Popularity and engagement may fluctuate, and could even be cyclical; but I believe that people will continue to come back for more for a long time.

i very much agree. i can only speak for myself, im and always was very interested in cock heros. 95% of them i watched on a video streaming site, mainly pornhub. so how comes that even i didnt watch a single new cock hero on pornhub for the last 4-5 years? and only 3 on spankbang in that timeframe? its mainly because it has become hard to access and find, i know what people are thinking now, there is a cock hero database, there are threads about new releases, there are downloads, torrents and so on. but for me as someone who watched many of the old cock heros its not always easy to discern which i already watched and which are new (mainly because i dont know every single title from mind and sometimes they dont even have one) and which of the new are actually of decent quality/to my taste (i barely consider something without a beatmeter and below 30min length a cock hero). so the effort of downloading and all made me favor normal porn over new cock heros. the most recent cock heros i watched was rewatching island which i dont dare to think about how old this is, one of the newer ones that stuck to my mind is "sexy youtube" which surprisingly still is available on spankbang.

if it gets deleted from porn sites because of copyright infringement then i doubt youtube is any better, as them and amazon are the biggest copyright lovers i know. not because they like to protect the copyright but because they like money. interestingly i saw that youtube found a way to compromise (not on money though) so it seems practice since some years now to use music licensed by youtube which gets all the monetisation from the video in that case. maybe softcore videos specially produced with being in line with youtubes copyright could be an idea to make an entry drug for new people, but in the end the video material is never owned by the people producing cock heros so thats still debateable. until ai can produce porn videos i think we will have to wait for that golden era.

I realize it has issues on a mac, but I will say that Beatmeter Generator makes putting beats on anything really easy as long as you have the soundtrack. When I make my longer CH videos (30-45 minutes), doing the beatmeter only takes a few hours, while the actual video editing is many days of work. As someone's posted elsewhere, assume at least an hour of work per minute of CH, on average.

So putting beats on a PMV, if one wants to, is quick. For a 5 minute one, I could probably have it done and exported in a half hour to an hour, max.

But vetting scenes, editing content together, doing the music edits if you're mixing them at all and all that makes a typical CH a much bigger production than a PMV, yeah. And I think the expectations of quality have gone up. The early ones were very basic, often slow cuts, a mixed bag on the scene selection and so on. Not knocking them and some of them are still amazing, but some very good and skilled creators have shown up, several of whom publish here, and I think feeling like you have to compete with that level of quality can be daunting for someone coming into it as a new editor.

I mostly follow Fap Heroes, but releases have been getting much rarer and harder to find. There have been several archive sites and discords that have been taken down. I can't be certain, but some evidence points to it being certain genres of hentai that many consider problematic. You know,

DaVinci Resolve is free and a worthy competitor to Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Highly recommend it. I switched from Adobe to it because Adobe is stupid expensive. As far as I know it's available on both Windows and MacOS.

I use Vegas 14, and I find it good enough for me. It handles 4K to 1080p beautifully, and that was my need at the time I got it.
