if we're talking true competition between people, then these issues are legitimate concerns

however, given most of these are by-oneself gaming situations and one is playing against oneself, and given that people vary greatly in stimulation capability and capacity and that inherently every Cock Hero game produced is not at all one-size-fits-all, that some use a loose grip and others use a tight grip, and "even" that people vary grips, is hardly "cheating"

Echoing servufon. One man's "rules" are another man's "guidelines". Since it's my own private wanking session, I am thankful for the material that others have made for me, but I'm going to use it in whatever way works best for me. Sometimes that means I'll follow the "rules" but other times I'll do my own thing. Often I start with some non-CH thing, then when the mood hits hard, I'll switch over to CH. Sometimes I've already been edging, so I will modify the rules for myself to get maximum enjoyment.

So when you ask if you're "cheating" by using an ice pack...uh...it really doesn't matter to me if you use an ice pack, eat a sandwich with one hand while jerking off with the other, or fuck your mother-in-law in time with the beat meter, as long as it's working for you.

The only exception to that is if you're going to brag to others about how well you did, or if you're trying to compete with someone (neither are are things I'm likely to do, but hey, I'm not going to judge). In that case, then yeah, you should follow the rules as spelled out by whoever made the video (and leave the ice pack in the freezer), or come to an agreement with whoever else is participating in what ways you will deviate from the stated rules.
