Thanks for all the work you've put into this and then putting out here to share. :love: I've been having a good time with it. I had noticed the repeated edging introduction but I just figured it was due to not many activities yet built to chose from. I still notice that it seems when I ask to do something else she seems to apologize there's only one or 2 things to choose from and yet it seems I have done more than she offers at that time. Unfortunately I haven't really investigated, perhaps just my impression.

To add to others' comments, I think the tagging could have some tweaks. It is novel to have her show pictures and ask what is attractive about them, I like that. But I'm only allowed one tag at a time. Some pics later get shown asking if I want to add a tag, but still only one at a time. I think it'd be better if I could add multiple at a time (and maybe still come back later and be asked if anything else). As is, often when playing one of the games - like edging to tags, pics will show with the attribute but yet having received the tag.

I'd also like to be able to add tags outside of the game as picking randomly seems to pick some over and over and misses others entirely. It might be nice if a player could even say a picture is fully tagged and not have it pop up again in the tagging round. And while on the topic of tags, it'd be nice to be able to see what tags exist in her vocabulary(and add more) as I often try to input unknown ones.

As you're adding new kinks and activities, you might consider having her ask if there are more directories of applicable personal porn that a player might want to add rather than having to add them outside of playtime.

Anyway, just my two cents on your wonderful game. I'm eager to see whatever future developments you bring.

Thanks for your lines. I'm happy if you had some fun moments with Archive. :-)

When you want to play a different game, the selection depends of what kind of game Archive initially choosed. When it was eding only other eding games will be shown. So, yes, not all of the games you may know are listed then.

That different can it be.. :-) .. at some point I suggested to make a tagging "done" button. So that you don't have to watch fully tagged pictures over and over. The answer to this of somebody else was, "Please no, maybe I discorver other tags / kinks that are possible later on and I then want to add them". But maybe I should add the button. If you press it is still your decision.

To create a tagging only "Sessions" and fitting this one into the main menu of the story should be an easy one. Good point.

And it's funny. I thought about that lack of tags myself. At one point I had to edge for ever boob picture. But some of them where not tagged. That felt kind of odd. But I did not came up with the idea of adding all of the tags at once. :innocent:
I have to think about that change of multiple tag inputs at the same time. It some what crashes to current story behavior. Atm. you put in one tag and this can trigger a sub story.

Kinks / Tags have to be discovered, that's the way the story is. And it feels like a spoiler to show all of them. Anyway, I see that it is annoying to repeatedly type in words that she does not understand. The tags are free to access for everyone. It's a XML file located in the lib folder of a story. Your can edit it, add synonyms to existing tags or create new tags. But of course you'll have to setup the new tags in a bunch of chapters and write your own reactions of Archive for them. Which then leads to the next problem. When a new version comes out your new content will be overwritten.
I don't have a solid answer to this. Maybe you send me an PM and tell me what words are missing?

Slowly but steady the image tagging gets more and more complicated.. and since quite a time I don't like at that much. Ok, no, I like it, but it's causing problems. The most fundamental one might be you have to have images or a blog. Otherwise you are unable to play the game at all. And that sucks. Therefor at some point I will redesign all of this. But that's something for the future. For now I will add a tagging only chapter and think about mutiple tagging I guess.

Hello again,

I just wanted to let you know that I have uploaded a new test version of Archive v0.2.036.

Since the last post here on milovana I changed some behaviors as suggested. For example the image tagging works now different. The revisting of images is gone, instead you can add as much tags to an image right away. You can also delete a tag, when misclicked.

A bunch of small features have also been added. Such as a second option of displaying the text box buttons, a scroll function for the buttons and other improvements when creating content.

A huge amount of small bugs in the story have also been fixed.

As the latest addition I discovered a very helpfull article about TTS and so I was able to implement that. At least I do hope so. Right now Archive is using the Windows built-in TTS and voices. Sure, out there are better generators, but most of them must be payed and are in need of a server connection. And I don't want the topics of Archive being send to a server of a company of which I don't know what data they collect.

I had problems to force Archive using the english language voice as I'm not working on a english system. Therefor I added three options Disable / Enable / Force English. Sadly I couldn't figure out a way to let you select a specific voice. Whatever voice I set the windows setting to, it's alsways the same in Archive. For me it works, as right now it selects a female voice by default. I hope one of the options does work for you. Feedback on that would be awesome. Maybe I can also force a female voice. But I will wait for some feedbak now.

Oh, and if you don't know, you can add voice to your windows system. There are some free ones from microsoft, but you can also add voice of others companys. They sound way better, but most of them are not for free. I haven't done this, so I don't know if voices other than the ones of microsoft do work.

Great that you frequently bring update on archive.
Two things i stumbled upon:
Firstthing was while giving tags to pictures i just see 3,5 Rows. The fourth row was cut. So it seems the box ist not big enough.
The second thing is i jsut see the old image tag system. One tag per image. Do i have to activate the new system?
Else i had a great session

This one got me too. There is a horizontal scroll bar underneath. Its also possible to switch to portrait.
The second thing is i jsut see the old image tag system. One tag per image. Do i have to activate the new system?
Needs to be activated in settings, after that you can add one tag after the other.

For the first question, yes that because of the scroll function. There is a scrollbar (maybe I have to make it more visible) or you can use the mousewheel.

For the second question it's a bit different than sblatt said. Or let's say there are two things going on.
To add more than one tag, just add a tag and after that Archive asks you if you would like to add another one. This doesn't needs to be activated. This is just way it works by now.
What you can do is activate or deactivate the "discover mode". By default it is on, means you have to discover the possible tags first by typing them in for the first time. But when you disable that you will see all possible tags right away.

Hello, I have tried to program and its really great, so far I think this is one of the best JOI software out there and has a lot of potential.
I have no idea how come you only have so few supporters on Patreon because this project deserves hundreds :-D .
I think it just needs better advertising and marketing on, maybe you should try reddit and also other forums to advertise it, its also free.

thanks for your appreciation. :)

To be honest, at the moment I do try to not advertise Archive to much. Even after three years in the making it is still in an early alpha state with a lot of bugs and not so much to explore. And while in this state I don't want to gain to much attention. There is only one "first time", one first impression. And this one shall be a good one.. ;)

Hi,
it happened a couple times. Completely random no clue how to replicate it. I have 32GB Ram, it feels more like a mem leak. I saw it once using 11GB in taskmanager, but since Archive runs in fullscreen i don't keep track of it.
I also got tons of crashes related to this parts:

Today I had the time to test it and you are right. After 15 minutes the memory usage of archive was above 4GB. Looks like the image buffer does not delete unloaded image data. Strange thou that no one complained about it until now. Anyhow, I'll look deeper into this and thank you for pointing this bug out! :-)

Reguarding your other error log, I have no clue what this is. If you are willing to help me, please send me the Player.log file as pm. It's located at:

C:\Users\"username"\AppData\LocalLow\Naughty Habits\ARCHIVE

This one contains a little more informations. Also about your system. But take a look inside, the infos are not that much sensitive.

Ok, I found the issue. Until the lastest versions I destroyed the images after being shown to the user. But in the latest versions I change this to reuse the image and only swap the texture. But the garbage collector of Unity does not collect and destroy custom loaded assets / data (images, videos, etc..) even when it is in no use anymore.

It's fixed in the next version!

Regarding to the player.log it seems to get overwritten, however i fixed the crashes by deleting the progress.
Will the next Version only adress the mem leak or will the other bugs (lock not working as intended, remove from pool doesn't delete properly, Apparel items not recognised properly, and so on) also fixed in the next Version or will take more Time?

the other problems you are mentioning, are you refering to older problems/posts in this thread? Or have you experienced new ones? If yes, can you describe what happend or doesn't happen?

What lock does not work?
Why do you say remove from pool isn't working?
What items will not be recognised?

And yes, the player.log in the AppData folder is generated by unity by default and becomes overwritten every startup.
