Hey Supermassive, fist of all. I love the stuff you make.

Having said that I don't know what the idea is behind luring people to another platform. In any other forum that is just a tiny bit less open than this one that would at least result in a locked / removed topic.
What doesn't help my view on this is that I absolutely hate discord with a vengeance

So I'll patiently wait for it to (eventually) leak to other platforms.

"Luring" might not be the best choice of words here. It's not like he's setup "Milovana 2.0" and is trying to get people to leave this site in favor of a replacement. You'll find a number of people who link to their discord communities here on Milovana. There's no competition whatsoever, so the implication that Supermassive is trying to somehow subvert or harm Milovana is way off the mark. The TU doesn't host teases, doesn't have forums dedicated to broad-scale video releases, hardware, webteases, etc. It's a server dedicated to enjoying and discussing a very specific niche of film and other things directly or indirectly related to said niche.

Besides... it's a closed community now. Invite-only. There's no luring going on because no one can just waltz into the server whenever they please. It's fine to not like Discord, but implying that Supermassive is acting maliciously (and then telling him you intend to pirate his work) is very poor form.

Now, the reason why we have the current arrangement, i.e. Discord, is due to the considerable time, energy and financial resources devoted to creating these films. A typical film takes anywhere from 3 to 6 months of full-time work. There's also substantial hardware and software costs, as well as the costs associated with material (I prefer to purchase material instead of pirating it, and some of the material is custom, i.e. original content purposely filmed for my projects). There's the emotional factor also. Working for so long on a pornographic film can take its toll on you, mentally. Which is why I tend to take a few months break between projects.

Hence, the current arrangement reflects these constraints. With Strothy, we are fostering a community, one that's tight-knit and passionate. We are not trying to 'lure' people away from Milovana, this is our own thing. Our films depart from CHs or PMVs and towards long-form sexual expressions with a psychedelic twist, and we intend things to remain that way. It is an arrangement that, for the moment, presents the best option to combat leaks and piracy, which, for the reasons I stated above, is a major concern for us. We are not porn studio that can simply eat the losses by pumping out two or three scenes a week to stay ahead of the game. We come from the artist segment on the fringes, but with the afformentioned costs. Thus, we need to be more guarded.

I have raised this before, but if leaks become a problem then I will end production of further films. This is not to be spiteful of anything. This is a simple question of economics. Although I try my hardest not to charge for films where I can (Chemical Crush was free), my newest films are premium, and these essentially fund the next production. I have other things to do with my resources, and if someone is just going to hand out my stuff for free out the back door every time I release a new film, it will no longer be economically feasible for me to continue with further projects.

We host exclusively on Discord for a multitude of reasons, as already explained a few posts above. To summarise, if people are going to hand out my material for free, I will no longer be able to continue making content.

It has come up quite a few times recently that people want our content to be hosted on Torrents or publicly here.

I do not want to sound like a broken record, but it's important to reiterate that we have specific reasons for not hosting all our content here. While some releases might be publicly available, we have chosen to limit the availability of certain content for various reasons. This limited content is a special offering, designed to provide a unique and exclusive experience for our dedicated community.

I'm currently working on my third film, and although I have yet to release any limited editions, that might change in the future. The Films take tremendous dedication, effort, and financial investment to create. This includes writing, scripting, creating custom content, finding and preparing material, and countless hours of editing. These expenses are why we have switched to a limited-release model, and we hope you understand and appreciate the value of this commitment.

To give everyone a little more insight into the costs of such a release (those are the running costs for my current production):

- Content: 450€ (ManyVids/OF/Fansly/Labels like kink.com and so on); we do try to buy as much content as possible to support the creators we do feature
- Custom Content: 381€ (Custom Voice over recording by a professional VO-Actress)
- Subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud: 216€ (36€/Month times 6)
- Subscription to Stockfootage/VFX/GFX: 270€ (45€/month times 6)
- Video enhancing Software Licence: 125€

That is the bulk of the costs for one film by myself, I can't speak for supermassive directly but I do know it will be in the same ballpark or more.

The time aspect should not be underestimated during production. It usually becomes a secondary occupation, with 3-6 hours spent daily on editing. In addition to that, there is the preparatory phase of writing and all the other tasks that need to be completed in order to make the film. Altogether, we are talking about hundreds, if not thousands, of hours.

So for people to ask or even demand that we do host our content the way they want it to, offer to host our content on their accounts for others to access if we do not want this, or just straight up leak content, in order to hurt us, it's just plain offensive at this point.

We made the effort to switch to Discord not only to generate more discussion but also to facilitate feedback and conversations about various topics related to this kind of experience. But also to disconnect any of the controversy those limited releases have caused in the past, we do not force anyone to spend anything if they don't want to. I understand that some people may be disappointed with our decision to stop open invites on this platform, but recent events have solidified this choice.

Now let me finally add that my third film I did mention further up, will be a free release at some point here in the future until than, it will be limited to our discord and available there for free.
