Could be that you need to ramp your signal, either automatically or manually. Your nerves get used to the sensation (or temporarily burned out, drink some electrolyte solution before and during) and may need the power to be increased slowly as the file continues. Read my review earlier and see that the power levels I finished at were higher than when I started.
