There's been over 500 downloads of the .torrent file, yet there are only 8 seeds and I'm only downloading at 250KiB/sec. CH Awesome downloaded near instantly when I joined the cloud at roughly the same point, because people are obliged to keep seeding. Many, many, many people have downloaded this and then fucked off - what's called a "hit and run" in the torrent community.
I'll let it seed for a while once I've downloaded it - typically I now stop CH torrents at a ratio of 1:10 -, I'll let this one go to a max of 1:500 which will help.
It would seem though that there an awful lot of silent people who are leeching these without the courtesy to seed them back, and while it's hidden by people being generous with their bandwidth and electricity costs it isn't fair. I'd recommend Empornium over anonymous torrents. However it's important to note that this is just a suggestion and it's up to anyone who creates the videos to decide on how to distribute.
Can you download an empornium torrent without being a member of empornium? I would think that would be a pretty big disadvantage if you can't. I thought empornium was a private tracker, but I haven't really paid attention.
I agree that the torrents may be supported by a few. I have a seedbox that is largely idle and I seed all the CH torrents I DL permanently as long as I don't need space (and since i stopped scripting on my private sites, i never need space anymore). I'm around 200:1 ratio on all the ones I'm seeding. That said I've only got four of them up right now plus the three new ones I just dl'd today (CC3, this, and Awesomex).
At any rate, each torrent only needs 1-2 guys like me to effectively be always available at high speed.
