I wanted to do a quick review of this, since I watched it last night. I always mean to do reviews – and often promise to – and then get sidetracked (ADD is a bitch) and forget. But I have a few minutes, so I figure I’ll do one for this video. It’s a shame Slappy doesn’t seem to have an account, and can’t benefit from the feedback.

THE PROS:

• The music varies from tolerable to pretty good.
• The girls are all really attractive.
• The video is only thirty minutes, which can be nice in comparison to some of the epic, penis-destroying feature length CH’s out there (not that I don’t love those, too).
• Little to no anal; I know some people are all about the anal, but I’ve never liked it, and it’s nice to see a video from which it was absent.
• I liked the logical progression of the stages: teaser, oral, cowgirl, reverse cowgirl, missionary, finale. Again, I know some folks will see this as vanilla, but I’m sort of an extremist when it comes to porn – when I wanna see kinky fetish stuff, that’s ALL I wanna see, otherwise, I don’t wanna see it at all. No pegging, no ballkicking, no pissing, no BSDM stuff. Most of that I’m not into at all, anyway, but if I were, I think I’d like it on its own.
• Excellent finale.

THE CONS:

• The beats don’t always match the music perfectly, and sometimes don’t match the beat-meter. I’m sure this is a beginner’s mistake, and I can let it slide, but generally this is a big thumbs-down for me.
• For everything but the finale, there is just not enough variety in both the beats, and the scenes. It’s basically the same eight or so girls in the same scenes.
• For the finale, I would have liked a slightly more longer, more explicit countdown (maybe a timer ticking from two minutes, instead of just the last 10 seconds). I find that helps for pacing purposes.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

7.5 out of 10. This is a decent first effort. It’s nothing spectacular, but I think the author has potential, and I’m eager to see what else they have to offer down the road.

I concur. I have gone off-and-on about Empornium over the course of my experiences there. I don't really want to say that the organization as a whole is "bad" or "evil" or anything like that, I bear no ill will toward "them" (in so far as there IS any "them" involved at all). But I do find it cumbersome, and often disorganized to the point of non-functional. Therefore, I have to distrust the level of security and privacy that I'm receiving.

Can't we just "self-host" and then "public-host" a torrented video? (I just learned this!) I think a torrent-pointer (the ".TORRENT" file itself) should be easy to host anywhere, including merely as an attachment here at Milovana, since the file will only be about 20 Kb. The information-content of the torrent (that is to say, the data about the peers who are sharing the video and on-line, in other words, their "torrent identity numbers", so to speak) can be distributed through the DHT stuff that torrents will do. Consequently, after an early period of "super seeding" (boy, don't I sound like a tech God!) the need for a tracker and tracker-locations and so forth is really minimal.

In other other words, we don't need Empornium, in my limited judgment. But I'm not actually a real tech God, I only play one on web boards. I encourage a REAL tech God to chime in now.

To host torrent-Files, you do not need a tracker, you can just use any of the public ones.
Instead of hosting torrents, one could also just use magnetic links. (These are special URLs containing just a unique ID of a torrent and optionally a tracker to use). Then the torrent file itsself is shared via Bittorrent.

Whoops, I think we have a minor miscommunication. Probably my fault. One author states:

This is not what I meant to suggest. I didn't want to suggest that Milovana should have its own tracker; rather, I meant to say that a tracker itself can be irrelevant. I perhaps do not understand torrent technology adequately enough to distinguish among these options, so, I'm sorry if I'm speaking out of my depth here.

The same author continues:

I do agree, that perhaps Milovana may indeed NOT want to attract unnecessary scrutiny by hosting its own torrent-tracking service. So I'm in agreement with the first author mostly.

This is what I am suggesting. The whole Magnet / DHT / Bittorrent phenomenon by which ANY tracker is circumvented, to the point that the torrent "just knows itself" whenever peers are on line. Having an Empornium tracker isn't a problem ONLY for the fact that Empornium seems to cause some people problems; it's just a problem due to the fact that there IS a tracker, of ANY sort. A tracker is a device that remembers where and who peers are, then connects and re-connects those peers. Why use such a service at all? It has minor benefits, especially at the initiation of a torrent, in that it creates a "home" for the first givers to give from, so that the first receivers can receive more easily. After that, having a CLOUD of peers is adequate, whether or not they are at a given "home" or linked through that "home."

Or so I understand it. Anyway, it's cool stuff, and I'm glad to learn about it, and I still can't get Squeeze Play because the torrent is on Empornium but my membership there died a long and fetid death many moons ago ...

I think that is entirely reasonable AwesomeX. And if my cock hero project every gets past the planning stage I would do the same.

I might also look to have any beta testers join the intial swarm so that people get good-ish rates as soon as the file is released publically. Although I guess that migth defeat the ratio building point of using Emp (I dont really understand torrents).

I just finished this one. I loved it.

Sure, it was an early work but the creator has a natural talent. I loved the music choices, I loved the video choices. I really enjoyed the reward round. Reminded me of early CH Flux.

I hope that we see more from this Artist!

This was my first video so some of the beat meters strayed a little bit, i guess it was the difference in the rendering and the real-time strokes ... I think i can get it tested out and fixed before the release of the next one. I am working on an episode for Frivalous's next Levels 3. it should be all ironed out and fixed by then.

This kind of illustrates a point of the discussion earlier in the thread. The torrent on Empornium has been consistently seeded since the release more than a month ago. Right now it has 148 seeders. It will probably continue to be seeded continuously for years into the future.

I will not use public trackers when I have the choice to use a private tracker for precisely this reason. Public trackers create no incentive for people to do the right thing.
