History of the word
Rick Santorum was a Republican Senator in the United States. He was also an asshole. In 2003, he went above and beyond his usual bluster in descriptions of homosexuality, comparing it bestiality. Dan Savage, the brilliant sex columnist, held a contest to come up with a fitting thing that could be used for the name Santorum. Users made submissions, and this definition took. It's a great term, not just because it helps expose one of the nastiest humans of our time, but it's also a word that was needed in our vocabulary.There's more to say!
