Before anything else: here's a rant answering Sombre's rant since they're adamant to take me by the throat. Sorry in advance for the other people reading it since it may be as inconvienient a read as Sombre's post was for me but I won't let someone attack me without defending myself.
TL;DR: Sombre understood what they wanted to understand, distorted my words and talked for people that didn't ask (at least publicly) for it.
Sombre wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 5:23 pmMan, you look really new on this platform.
Man, you look like you really don't know how to read. I was just nitpicking what was a little bother for me and me only. But you didn't want to understand it.
I didn't say to get rid of all of it and I even said that it's better to have them everywhere. But you didn't want to understand it.
Andre chose to put them and even wrote "Any feedback is very valuable for me". But you didn't want to understand it.
Aside from you, have I offended anyone by saying that I (and not speaking for anyone else) prefered credits only at the end? Seems not. I'm OK with how credits were put in this FH. Never did I say the opposite. Just that it distracted me. I even wrote it was a "nice touch" and that they had to stay (in at least one version, and since there's no creditless-round dedicated version, they had to stay). I'm not telling Andre to remove them all, just that a version without those during rounds would have been better for me. I know how important it is to put them and I even suggested another more convenient way to give them to the viewers. But it's not that you didn't understand, you didn't even read it.
As for the hosts, I suggested an idea to improve his work and already said the work he put in it was "incredible". But you didn't read that.
I've made what I consider 1 major critic (the "readability" of the beatbar, and I'm not the only one for that) and some minor ones. Andre has been receptive to those and it's his choice to take them into account or not and also to tell me if I'm wrong or if I was a jerk with how I wrote them. Don't talk for Andre about the critics he can or cannot receive, you have no right doing so and you have no right telling me I can't make them.
If a creator cannot receive feedbacks, it's sad for them because they'll have a harder time improving, but it's their call. I don't know what was the nature of the ones that Bastati got but I can understand if it was toxic that it almost made him quit. If I was toxic while writing those for Andre: I'm sorry. I don't think they were but if it was the case, I hope Andre or a moderator would have told me.
Also, it's not because something was hard that it's perfect or even good (well, in this case, it's really good, but there's no correlation).
I'll re-repeat because you didn't bother reading it in previous posts: I was mostly nitpicking. I warned as such because most of what I said was of lesser importance than the point several people including me raised. It was to insist on that fact so as Andre would not take it to heart too much. Even for the UI elements being too blended with the rest is something no one should expect any amateur to get it perfectly right and I've made myself clear that the way it was put in the video had temporary cons but also pros.
I realise full well how much work it is to do all this as I edit videos myself daily (at an amateur level). I'm always digging for feedbacks, as small as they can be, from people who watch them and as long as they're not toxic in how they expose any critic, I take those into account and mines for Fantasy Play were in that intent: to allow Andre to have another more detailed point of view. And he's free to dismiss them or not, to judge them abusive or not, to think they're unimportant or not. It's not your call to do so.
P.S.: I don't find that relevant but since you talked about it while saying things like you're the senior teaching me while looking down on me, here's another thing you didn't bother reading: before saying I look new, read the date I joined this forum. Though I was silent for a long time, I've been here for an even longer time. If there's someone who's look new on this platform and Internet in general, it's you. Everyone is allowed to say what they think, as long as it's within the boundaries of the law and the rules of the platform. You can talk for yourself. You can say you think I'm wrong. But you cannot tell me to renounce freedom of speech. Had I been harassing Andre (or anyone else), then yes, you would be right to tell me to shut up. But that's not the case.
